This opinion is shared by the many artists who have been living here for years. The light, the space and the leafy lanes still inspire them to create many things of beauty. An art walk takes you along all galleries of the village.

The cosy village centre is also tempting. Around the eye-catching ruin-church you can find numerous boutiques, terraces and hospitable restaurants. Just around the corner you walk straight into the dune reserve. The Brede Duinenfietsroute, once chosen as the Netherlands’ most attractive cycling route, is also very popular.
And let’s not forget the beach. The wonderful sandy beach of Bergen aan Zee is three kilometres long.
